Indonesia as the Guardian of the Earth

Indonesia is an archipelagic state consisting of more than seventeen thousand islands and according to the Directorate General of Forestry Planning and the Environmental Management Republic of Indonesia, the results of Indonesian forest monitoring in 2019, show that the total forested land area throughout Indonesia's mainland is 94.1 million ha or 50.1% of whereas total land, forested areas consist of mangrove forests, swamp forests, savanna forests, monsoon forests, tropical rain forests, and peatlands. Unfortunately, forest areas are not well managed yet and highly vulnerable due to illegal logging which can cause natural disasters which will ultimately harm the environment.

Indonesia with its vast and many types of forested areas can becomes one of the most considerable countries to maintain carbon offsets, according to Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, the Coordinating Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs of Republic Indonesia. He stated that Indonesia has 80% of the world's carbon credits coming from forests, mangroves, peatlands, grasslands, and coral reefs; a very large and capable opportunity for nature sustainability as well as positive economic growth.

Therefore, Muller is aiming to put forward Indonesia’s great potential by participate actively in conserving Indonesia’s forested areas and also involving the local communities to safeguard the surrounding forest and to help increase local economic stability by investing in human resources to ensure equitable engagement and long-term impact.

Muller Karbon Kapital Indonesia (Muller) is a company established in Indonesia in 2021.  By taking a role and aiming to be the leader in empowering nature sustainability and preventing climate change for a better ecosystem through carbon credits.

Muller is committed to collaborating with various parties to create emission reduction as specified in Paris Agreement, by contributing to the effort to reducing Greenhouse Effect, by preserving flora and fauna, develop local communities, as well as contribute to raising the awareness of the importance of the threat of carbon gas which imperils the sustainability of nature and local communities in the future.

Chairman

A prominent individual in business sectors. He established almost everything in Indonesia, from the first commercial television network, RCTI in 1989 and the second commercial television network, SCTV in 1990, the first internet and satellite pay TV company, Indovision in 1994 (once people called him the Rupert Murdoch of Indonesia).

He also become a chairman of various big and reputable companies, namely Garuda Indonesia, the biggest national carrier in Indonesia. His other business ventures including Plaza Indonesia Realty, PT Tri Polyta Indonesia, First Media, Bali Intercontinental Resort, PT Datakom Asia and PT Jaring Data Interaktif. In music industry he is well-known as the founder of the biggest Jazz Festival in the world, called Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival, which was first held in 2005 and is celebrating its 15 years this year.

In 2014, he was appointed Indonesian Ambassador to Poland by president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. On his last service as Ambassador, in December 2018, he received an honorary star award from the Polish President in recognition of his contribution to bilateral relations. This award is the highest rank of award in Poland.

DR. Riza Suarga
President Director

DR. Riza Suarga, the initiator of “Saving Our Tomorrow”, is a seasoned corporate executive with over 25 years of experience running large-scale businesses in Indonesia’s forestry sector. His academic credentials are extensive, with a BA from Ohio University in Economics and double major in Mechanical Engineering, received a special Rector scholarship for his Master degree in Human Resource Management from Trisakti University, and a Ph.D. in natural resource management from the University of Indonesia.

His experience and wide-ranging academic background make him well-suited to manage teams within the sustainable forestry and conservation sectors. As a member of the Indonesian Chamber of commerce for over eight years, he is currently the chamber’s liaison at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry since 2014 where he serves as the chairman of the Ecolabel desk focusing on certification standards for products from the forestry sector.
